Job summary

O-I in Lapel, Indiana is seeking a Plant HR Generalist to support staffing, payroll, performance management, employee development, training and succession planning.

This hands-on role partners with the Plant HR Manager to implement HR processes, supervise payroll, benefits and initiatives, and to advocate for employees.

Candidates should have a bachelor degree, payroll experience and strong Excel skills; knowledge of Ceridian DayForce and SAP is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree required.
  • Previous experience in payroll administration in a fast-paced environment preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of Ceridian DayForce and SAP are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Train and monitor work accuracy of Payroll/HR responsibilities with managers.
  • Maintain and reconcile all hourly payroll files and data for the plant, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Process weekly plant hourly payroll, including balancing general ledger interfaces and preparing regular and special payroll reports.
  • Assist in the administration of employee benefit and compensation programs and other HR company initiatives as required.
  • Partner with Plant HR Manager for disability processing, relocation coordination, HR requisition and PAF process, maintaining employee files and performance plan tracking and record keeping.

Job Description

The Plant HR Generalist will assist in the execution of staffing, payroll, performance management, employee development, training and succession planning. This hands‑on position is responsible for driving the implementation of HR processes and initiatives.

The Plant HR Generalist Will
  • Train and monitor work accuracy of Payroll/HR responsibilities with managers
  • Maintain and reconcile all hourly payroll files and data for the plant, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Process weekly plant hourly payroll, including balancing general ledger interfaces and preparing regular and special payroll reports

Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree required
  • Previous experience in payroll administration in a fast‑paced environment preferred
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of Ceridian DayForce and SAP are a plus

What we offer at O-I:

Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between $70,000 - $80,000 and includes a possible 12% short‑term incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job‑related factors permitted by law.
