Responsible for the administrative functions of the plant’s Human Resources department, including recordkeeping, maintaining organizational charts, creating and updating spreadsheets, orienting new employees, screening job candidates.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Establishes, maintains and controls personnel records, files, correspondence reports, and org charts.
  • Ensures personnel files are up-to-date and complete.
  • Manages I-9s; ensures they are complete, accurate, and updated as needed.
  • Creates and updates Excel spreadsheets as required.
  • Conducts new hire orientation and prepares paperwork.
  • Prepares paperwork needed to create new employee files.
  • Provides assistance in hiring process activities such as screening of employment applications, arranging interviews, and administering pre-employment tests.
  • Assists with checking employment references.
  • Ensures drug tests and background checks are done in accordance with company policy.
  • Assists with annual benefit enrollment process.
  • Ensures proper approvals areobtained on all pay changes.
  • Handles safety and workers’ compensation reporting as needed.
  • Runs HR Reports out of PeopleSoft.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and company posting requirements.
  • Disseminates safety training materials and maintains training records.
  • Maintains OSHA recording software.
  • Coordinates temporary staffing under direction of HR Manager.
  • Assists with administering Leaves.
  • Provides assistance in monitoring employee performance appraisal process and merit increase process.
  • Maintains ISO documentation.
  • Organizes annual hearing tests for production employees and supervisors.
  • Organizes annual flu shot clinic.
  • Coordinatesemployee roundtable lunches and any other employeeevents or programs.
  • Serves as HR contact for printed materials (e.g. handbooks, tracking calendars, business cards, etc.).
  • Audits time-keepingrecords.
  • Works with HR Manager to resolve payroll issues.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or minimum three years’ related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to be discreet and adhere to strict confidentiality policies.
  • Must be able to perform job duties with minimal supervision.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to communicate in writing.
  • Must be able to relate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to maintain good attendance.
  • Must have mathematical ability to perform calculations required by the job.
  • Must be computer literate including the ability to maintain basic databases, do word processing, create and maintain spreadsheets using Excel.
  • Must be well-organized and able to manage time efficiently.
  • Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Must have a professional appearance.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed. May need to flex hours to accommodate all shifts.
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
