Job Title

Professional Plant Health Care Technician

Requirements
  • Horticulture or Related Degree and/or Minimum of 3 years' experience in Plant Health Care – Willing to train the right person with less experience
  • Successful completion of a Pre-employment physical & substance screening.
  • Enthusiasm and motivation for outdoor work, plant knowledge, customer service, and working effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work extra hours if needed, especially during peak seasons.
  • Knowledge in Identification and culture of ornamental plants and turfgrass
  • Proficient in pest identification, diagnosis, and control.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients and crew members and company employees
Responsibilities
  • Understand pest & disease life cycles, plant biology, and soil biology to diagnose issues and recommend treatment options.
  • Accurately diagnose pest problems, provide treatment recommendations, and safely apply treatments at client properties.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and operate industry standard equipment used for treatment applications.
  • Prepare company vehicles for treatment applications.
  • Manage client routes and handle the paperwork detailing work performed.
  • Maintain open communication with clients and team members to provide information on plant health care needs.
  • Record-keeping and inventory management of fertilizers and pesticides.
  • Snow Removal during winter months
Job Details
  • Type: Full-time
  • Pay: $25.00 - $34.00 per hour ($50,000-75,000/year)
  • Benefits: Health insurance (Reimbursement up to 50%), Paid time off, Professional development assistance
  • Schedule: 8-hour shift (may require more hours during peak seasons), Monday to Friday, Weekend availability – weather/schedule dependent
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: 3 years in Plant Health Care (preferred, but less experience considered)
  • License/Certification: Clean PA Driver's License, Ability to obtain a PA Pesticide license within 90 days of hire
  • Security Clearance: Confidential
  • Work Location: In-person (Client properties)
