Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Plant Health Care Technician to fertilize and manage pest control for trees, shrubs, and lawns on site in New Berlin, WI. You will diagnose pests, educate clients, and monitor plant health while operating equipment such as trucks and sprayers.

Preferred candidates have a forestry/ horticulture background and pesticide licenses; training and safety courses are provided on hire.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture or Landscaping preferred.
• Possession of pesticide licenses per state requirements preferred.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree training and safety courses on hire.

Responsibilities

• Fertilize and manage pest control for trees, shrubs, and lawns using spray and injection tools.
• Identify insects, weeds, and disease; diagnose conditions and areas at risk.
• Educate clients about diagnosis and prescribed services.
• Monitor plant health and adjust fertilization methods; report progress to customers and supervisors.
• Operate and maintain equipment including truck and sprayer.

• Cultivate your career and fertilize your future!
• Properly identify and diagnose insects, weeds, fungus conditions and pest prone areas.
• Communicate with and educate the client regarding the diagnosis and the prescribed pest control and fertilization service with customers.
• Continuously monitor plant health quality and fertilizing methods after application and communicate progress to customers and supervisors.
• Drive, use, maintain and properly operate equipment (truck and sprayer).

What We’re Looking For

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture or Landscaping
• Preferred: Turf, Weed, Tree and shrub ID, Pathology and knowledge of turf or tree physiology
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Qualified Plant Health Care Tech training program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hireValid driver’s license
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
