Job summary

McGill Environmental Systems hires a 1st shift Plant / General Laborer (Utility Technician I) in New Hill, NC to keep our compost manufacturing operation running safely and efficiently. This hands-on role supports production and site operations, requiring reliability and teamwork.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM with occasional Saturdays, overtime, and schedule adjustments. Daily pay and full benefits are offered to eligible team members.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in general labor, warehouse, manufacturing, landscaping, construction, industrial, or outdoor work preferred
• Ability to perform physical work throughout the shift
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong attendance and dependability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Perform site cleanup and general labor duties throughout the facility
• Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials
• Support Heavy Equipment Operators and Maintenance Technicians
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Assist with inspections, housekeeping, and routine operational tasks
• Work safely around equipment, vehicles, and industrial machinery
• Help ensure smooth day-to-day operations across the site
