Job summary

Hayden Industrial is seeking a Plant Controller to lead plant accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and internal controls. This role reports to the CFO and partners with plant leadership to drive informed business decisions and improve operational performance.

The successful candidate will ensure timely month-end close, manage inventory valuation, supervise accounting staff, and coordinate internal controls while safeguarding assets and maintaining ERP data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Experience leading month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, inventory accounting, and internal controls.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, standard costing, variance analysis, and financial controls.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems; CrescentOne (Glovia) experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical and leadership abilities; ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills for non-financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead plant accounting and financial reporting, ensuring accurate financial statements and timely month-end and year-end close in accordance with US GAAP and company policies.
• Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules; resolve discrepancies and maintain complete records.
• Oversee valuation of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods; coordinate inventories and cycle counts.
• Maintain standard costs, labor and overhead rates, and cost allocation methodologies; analyze variances.
• Develop and maintain accounting procedures and internal controls; ensure data integrity in the ERP system.
• Lead plant budgets and forecasts; prepare reports for CFO and plant leadership.
• Analyze product and project profitability, production costs, scrap, and trends; identify cost savings with production and procurement partners.
• Oversee fixed asset accounting, capital project tracking, capitalization, and depreciation; support capex evaluations.
