Job summary

Hunter Douglas, a global leader in window coverings, seeks a Plant Controller to oversee financial operations for two manufacturing sites. You will partner with the CFO and site leaders to ensure accurate reporting, cost control, and strategic support in a fast-paced environment.

You will drive standard costing, variance analysis, cash flow planning, and SOX compliance while leading continuous improvement initiatives in finance processes and ERP utilization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
• 7+ years accounting/finance experience; 3+ years in plant controllership.
• Multi-site or multi-division experience required.

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Close: Partner with RTR Accounting on monthly, quarterly, and annual close, ensuring GAAP-compliant P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
• Cost Accounting & Analysis: Own standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and product margins.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop AOP, rolling forecasts, CAPEX justifications, and present to leadership.
• Inventory & Working Capital: Optimize inventory, cycle counts, obsolescence reserves; improve turns.
• Internal Controls & Compliance: Maintain SOX/internal controls; coordinate audits and tax packages.
• Business Partnering: Interface with Plant Managers; support pricing decisions and make-vs-buy.
• Systems & Process Improvement: Drive ERP usage (SAP/Oracle) and automate reporting.

Position Overview

The Plant Controller is a critical finance leadership role overseeing financial operations, reporting, and compliance for two manufacturing sites within Hunter Douglas. Reporting to the Division CFO (or equivalent), this position ensures accurate financial management , cost control, and strategic decision support across both facilities. The role combines hands-on controllership with multi-site coordination in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What you'll do

• Financial Reporting & Close:Partner with RTR Accounting team onmonthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuringtimelyandaccurateP&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting in compliance with GAAP and Hunter Douglas policies.
• Cost Accounting & Analysis: Own standard costing, variance analysis (PPV, labor, overhead, scrap), inventory valuation, and product margin analytics. Drive root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop annual operating plans (AOP), rolling forecasts, and site-level capital expenditure (CAPEX) justification. Present financial performance and risks/opportunities to plant leadership and division executives.
• Inventory & Working Capital:Optimizeinventory levels, cycle counts, and obsolescence reserves. Partner with supply chain and operations to improve turns and cash flow.
• Internal Controls & Compliance:Maintainrobust SOX/internal control environment. Coordinate audits, tax packages, and statutory reporting.
• Business Partnering: Serve as the primary finance interface to Plant Managers and department heads. Support pricing decisions, make-vs-buy analysis, and productivity initiatives.
• Systems & Process Improvement: Drive ERPutilization(e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent), automate reporting, andleadcontinuous improvement in finance processes.

Who you are

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, CMA, or MBAstronglypreferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing plant controllership role.
• Multi-site or multi-division experiencerequired.
• Advanced Excel and ERP systemsproficiency; experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)a plus.
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and present to senior leadership.
