Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related technical field OR approximately two years of relevant hands‑on field experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to perform physical, hands‑on work and walk throughout a large campus
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

• Perform rounds throughout campus mechanical rooms and facilities
• Check equipment and building systems for proper operation
• Respond to maintenance calls and work orders
• Help troubleshoot heating, cooling and mechanical issues
• Respond to plumbing problems, leaks and other building concerns
• Assist experienced Plant Engineering Technicians with repairs and troubleshooting
• Document completed work through RIT's work-order system
• Travel between buildings on RIT's main campus and adjacent facilities using university vehicles
