Job summary

Qualifications

About The Role

As the head of Maintenance and Engineering in a fast-paced meat processing plant, you'll ensure peak equipment performance and minimal downtime. You'll implement advanced systems like Preventive and Predictive Maintenance and TPM, driving the plant toward high performance. This role leads capital projects from concept to completion, on time, on budget, and with zero compromise on safety, food safety, or environmental standards. You'll manage all phases to minimize operational disruption and enhance plant capabilities through strategic improvements, while leading and developing high-performing engineering and maintenance teams.

What You'll Do

• Lead capital projects from concept to completion, on time, on budget, with zero compromise on safety, food safety, or environmental standards
• Manage all phases to minimize operational disruption and enhance plant capabilities through strategic improvements
• Drive the development and execution of advanced maintenance strategies, including Preventive and Predictive Maintenance and TPM
• Lead and inspire the maintenance team through task delegation, policy enforcement, and safety-first planning
• Serve as the primary problem solver for daily operational challenges, from troubleshooting to long-term fixes
• Develop and track KPIs measuring the success of the maintenance function, including equipment reliability, supplier performance, and overall equipment effectiveness
• Lead and develop high-performing engineering teams through coaching, performance management, and collaboration with HR, fostering a culture of safety, communication, and recognition

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, plus 10+ years of experience in engineering management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (a Master's degree plus 8+ years of relevant experience also qualifies)
• 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, including team development and management
• Advanced technical skills in mechanical/electrical fields (PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical engineering)
• Ability to lead resource planning efforts in a large manufacturing environment
• Thorough knowledge of maintenance systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance, and TPM
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to communicate technical ideas to a non-technical audience
• Willingness to work long hours and weekends as needed

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of pork products and the meat industry

Compensation And Benefits

• $160,000 to $210,000 per year, plus bonus.
