Job Summary

The Plant Engineer & Reliability Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance and engineering at the brewery. This role provides critical technical leadership for equipment, reliability, capital projects, and continuous improvement. The Plant Engineer & Reliability Manager is an integral part of the plant leadership team and helps set strategic direction to the brewery. This role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities and balance between short term plant operational activities along with long term organizational needs. The Plant Engineer & Reliability Manager works with all departments to support internal and external customers ensuring that all needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coach, develop, and mentor plant leadership and technical staff
  • Provide leadership to fully optimize asset utilization
  • Oversee, develop, maintain, and continuously improve the preventative maintenance program
  • Create and execute strategic plans for engineering and maintenance
  • Provide technical leadership to come up with solutions for operational problems, system optimization, and troubleshooting
  • Provide technical leadership and site compliance with EPA and OSHA
  • Drive results by creating a clear sense of urgency, creativity, and innovation
  • Responsible for the site capital plan, budgets, project management, and execution
  • Put together complete financial project justifications
  • Prioritize and re-prioritize open projects as needed to support the business
  • Continuously optimize the utilization of the site CMMS
  • Lead root cause analysis efforts and ensure equipment reliability
  • Develop, improve, and implement Utility improvements and efficiencies
  • Must be able to provide a hands-on approach to own problem solving
  • Build and maintain high quality relationships with contractors, equipment suppliers, and engineering firms
  • Ensure work areas are maintained to be neat and safe work areas
  • Be a positive role model and demonstrate the ability to lead people and get results through others
  • Cooperatively work with others Managers/ Supervisors by not placing his/her own department above the needs of the company as a whole
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to prioritize and schedule maintenance activities
  • Manage the plant’s budget for engineering and reliability activities, including cost control and spending approvals
  • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the engineering and maintenance departments

Minimum Qualifications

  • College graduate with four-year engineering degree, required
  • Manufacturing experiencing totaling 5 years or more , including management responsibilities
  • Strong leadership skills for managing people and projects
  • Beverage or Food industry experience
  • Strong knowledge and use of analytical tools
  • Strong knowledge is predictive and preventative maintenance tools and world class asset care
