Carbo Ceramics, LLC is seeking a Plant Engineer to support Alabama operations with hands‑on work across pumps, motors, burners, kilns, and control systems. You will help design, troubleshoot, and implement improvements in safety, reliability, and efficiency while collaborating with operations and maintenance teams.

The role emphasizes practical problem solving in a two‑facility environment, with routine weekday hours and occasional on‑call support to resolve urgent issues at the plants.

Qualifications

• Two+ years hands-on industrial plant experience required.
• Engineering degree is encouraged but not mandatory with experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of pumps, motors, valves, belts, and piping.
• Experience with electrical/control systems and plant safety practices a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate with vendors.

Responsibilities

• Support Alabama plant engineering and project work to complete high‑impact projects.
• Design and troubleshoot pumps, motors, valves, kiln systems, and process equipment.
• Address continuous process challenges like flow, transfer, and bottlenecks.
• Assist with capital projects, vendor quotes, installation, commissioning and start‑up.
• Provide technical support for electrical, instrumentation, control, and HMI systems.
