Job summary

Orion S.A. is seeking a Plant Engineer to manage and execute plant-level activities focused on improving infrastructure and utilities. This role may also support process and reliability engineering when called upon.

Essentials include identifying repairable or improvable infrastructure, developing project proposals, coordinating with contractors, keeping projects on budget, and reporting KPIs monthly. The position requires SAP purchasing and adherence to standards and OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of experience in refining, natural resource extraction, or specialty chemical manufacturing.
• Ability to develop and sell ideas to improve cost, schedule, and execution of projects.
• Experience preparing specifications, issuing requisitions, evaluating bids, and dealing effectively with vendors.
• Familiarity with standard industrial construction techniques and applicable OSHA standards.
• Proficiency in SAP and one or more project management software tools.

Responsibilities

• Identify infrastructure and equipment needing repair, replacement, or improvement.
• Develop proposals to correct deficiencies in the assigned area.
• Collaborate with the plant project engineer to prepare contractor packages and define scope.
• Keep projects within budget and alert the plant manager to exceptions.
• Support reliability, process, and production engineering during peak demand.
• Prepare monthly project status reports and KPIs.
• Define, prepare, and submit purchase requisitions into SAP.
• Ensure projects conform to company standards, codes, and best practices.
