Qualifications

  • Familiarity with electrical works (City & Guilds 17th Edition and PAT Testing qualifications desirable).
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably high-volume or bespoke production.

Job Title: Plant Engineer

Location: Gloucestershire

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday (Some flexibility required depending on business needs)

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus performance bonus

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Plant Engineer to join our dynamic Manufacturing & Engineering team based at our head office in Gloucestershire. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CNC/PLC production machinery and be passionate about driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:
  1. Maintenance & Optimization: Perform routine Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks, including cleaning, checking, adjusting, and testing production equipment. Make repairs promptly to minimize downtime. Maintain accurate records of TPM activities and repairs.
  2. Machinery Operation & Fault Finding: Operate and troubleshoot CNC and other machinery for setup, adjustments, and fault identification. Ensure equipment functions optimally and resolve issues efficiently.
  3. Training & Support: Train machine operators on basic repairs and maintenance to foster a proactive maintenance culture.
  4. Third-Party Liaison: Source and coordinate with contractors for complex repairs and statutory maintenance tasks.
  5. Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with production management and project engineers to identify and implement process improvements. Participate in activities to enhance plant efficiency.
  6. Additional Responsibilities: Assist with basic building maintenance, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and support engineering needs at the Leicester site to ensure consistency across locations.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent apprenticeship
  • Proven experience with CNC/PLC machinery, including fault finding and repair
  • Familiarity with electrical works (City & Guilds 17th Edition and PAT Testing qualifications desirable)
