Shaw Industries plant SI in Georgia is seeking a Plant Engineer II to lead reliability programs, drive TPM and Lean initiatives, and ensure safety, quality, and cost controls while boosting productivity. You will direct a multi-discipline reliability team, develop maintenance strategies, schedule PM/PDM, and partner with managers to reduce downtime and optimize asset performance.

Strong communication and data-driven decision making are essential to sustain continuous improvement across shifts

Formación

Plant Engineer II Position Overview

Shaw Industries plant SI is hiring a Plant Engineer to direct the facility's overall reliability programs ensuring compliance with all regulated and general industry standards. Provide assistance to manufacturing managers in the areas of reactive and predictive reliability, cost control, energy management, environmental compliance, and safety performance. This role is involved in manufacturing related engineering initiatives that will identify opportunities to improve quality, lower cost, reduce risk, and increase productivity. Evaluate and establish maintenance procedures utilizing Total Productive Maintenance concepts in association with Lean Manufacturing.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership, development, and execution of the reliability team comprised of 1 Maintenance Manager, 2 Project Engineers, 2 Automation Engineers, 3 Supervisors, 1 Planner, and 75 hourly maintenance associates.
  • Implement, monitor and optimize workplace safety policies and standards.
  • Develop and implement the overall long-term maintenance strategy.
  • Ensure the reliability team executes that plan.
  • Develop and drive results towards key reliability metrics and associated processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in each of the key performance indicators identified for the leading and lagging key performance indicators.
  • Maintain peak performance of Plant SI equipment with regards to availability, cost of operation, safety and quality through execution of PM/PDM and repair work.
  • Ensure equipment is repaired according to plant priority in a timely manner meeting quality expectations.
  • Coordinate continuous improvement opportunities with Plant Engineer of Continuous Improvement based on reliability team data and experience.
  • Ensure reliability team meets training and development objectives to meet or exceed skills and knowledge targets.
  • Implement effective planning and scheduling process to ensure maximized efficiency and effectiveness of reliability team.
  • Ensure we have an updated Bill of Materials for parts that includes having all the critical spares needed and the correct min/max for parts.
  • Ensure Weave PM executes on loom overhaul and parts rebuild schedule while meeting quality goals.
  • Maintain strong internal customer relationships.

Preferred Skills
  • Must have knowledge of and understand key TPM tools and processes (5S, PM, PDM, Planning/Kitting/Scheduling, RCA, etc.).
  • General knowledge of manufacturing plant support equipment such as chillers, compressors, air washers, cooling towers and power distribution systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal customers, contractors, and supplier both orally and written.
  • Ability to coach and support effectively.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis and related process tools.
