Job summary

Big River Resources is seeking a Plant Engineer to initiate, support, and execute facility improvement projects at the home plant. This role serves as a technical resource to keep operations safe and efficient, and to drive continuous improvement across the site.

You will review data, troubleshoot production issues, coordinate with the Efficiencies Team, ensure OSHA/EPA/FSMA compliance, maintain P&ID drawings, and travel up to 25% to support other facilities.

Qualifications

  • Engineering or technical degree with relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2 years in engineering, chemical, or processing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with data analysis tools like JMP.
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site in a 24/7 operations environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, support, and execute opportunities to improve production, efficiency, yield, and costs.
  • Review operational data to monitor production and identify improvements.
  • Troubleshoot operational challenges and implement short- and long-term solutions.
  • Assist Efficiencies Team as a facility stakeholder for projects.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, FSMA) in processes.
  • Support Management with Process Safety Management and MOC processes.
  • Maintain updated plant P&ID drawings and energy balances.
  • Coordinate on-site contractors and personnel.
  • Travel up to 25% to support other facilities and training.
  • Teamwork is critical and skills may be used beyond the role.
