Jones-Hamilton Co. is seeking an experienced Plant Engineer to support chemical manufacturing operations in Richburg, South Carolina.

The role focuses on process improvement, equipment reliability, operational excellence, and safety standards to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in chemical manufacturing or similar industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of chemical processing systems and unit operations.
• Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements.
• Experience with DCS/PLC systems and process control concepts.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, PI systems).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Commitment to fostering a safe and efficient work environment.
• Lean Six Sigma preferred.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Must pass drug screening as required.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to plant operations to ensure consistent, efficient, and safe production.
• Troubleshoot process issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability.
• Lead small-to-medium capital projects from concept through commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and PSM/RMP requirements.
• Monitor process KPIs and drive improvements in yield, throughput, and energy efficiency.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams.
• Other duties as assigned.
