Job Title: Plant Engineer
Location: Wilson, North Carolina
Salary: $140-172K plus bonus
As the manager of the maintenance and engineering department in a highly productive plant, you will be responsible for maintaining superior building and equipment performance. By decreasing mechanical downtime and ensuring smooth product flow, you will maintain optimal efficiency in our production lines. You will take the lead in creating and executing advanced maintenance systems, such as Preventive and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, and more, propelling our plant to new levels as part of a High-Performing Manufacturing Organization. As the overseer of engineering operations, you will guarantee our facilities continue to be a cutting-edge food manufacturing environment, developing and implementing highly creative technology projects
Job Responsibilities:
- Own capital projects from inception to completion! You will coordinate and schedule all project elements to ensure minimal disruption to plant operations, delivering projects in a timely and cost-effective manner while maintaining safety, food safety, and environmental standards.
- Lead the development and implementation of advanced maintenance systems to maximize plant performance. You will drive initiatives like Preventive and Predictive Maintenance, TPM, and other high-impact strategies, ensuring efficient scheduling to enhance task completion while minimizing downtime.
- Supervise the maintenance team by assigning tasks, enforcing policies, and guiding work assignments. Your organizational and planning skills ensure efficient and safe completion of work.
- Provide short-term solutions and long-term resolutions to daily operational challenges. Whether troubleshooting, analyzing problems, or addressing equipment malfunctions, you will ensure the plant operates smoothly with minimal recurring issues.
- Promote continuous improvement by establishing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators that gauge maintenance function success. Your insights on equipment reliability, supplier performance, and overall equipment effectiveness are vital for maintaining peak performance throughout the plant.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited four-year college or university, with at least 8 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in team management/development or project leadership.
- Strong leadership, planning, teamwork, analytical, and adaptability skills.
- Advanced technical skills in mechanical/electrical fields and experience in resource planning in a large manufacturing setting.
- Thorough knowledge of maintenance systems, work order process, preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, etc.
- Ability to use exposure monitoring equipment, interpret results, and communicate findings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Clear and concise communication skills in both written and oral formats.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, along with excellent interpersonal, technical, and presentation skills.
