Job summary

Sealed Air in North Carolina seeks a Plant Engineer to lead engineering, maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement for safe, reliable, cost-effective plant operations. You will drive reliability programs and capital projects while collaborating across Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Safety and Finance to improve uptime, yield and overall equipment effectiveness.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering and 5+ years in manufacturing/plant engineering, with CMMS/Maximo experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years in manufacturing/plant engineering, maintenance/reliability in extrusion or high-speed production.
  • Experience with CMMS/Maximo; preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Experience with capital projects and root-cause analysis.
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering, maintenance, reliability, utilities and continuous improvement activities.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Safety, Supply Chain and Finance to reduce losses.
  • Develop proactive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and standardized work.
  • Manage capital projects and equipment installations.
  • Oversee automation, controls, asset management and spares.
  • Ensure safety, compliance and documentation standards.
  • Drive improvements in uptime, run-rate and process capability.

Position Summary

The Plant Engineer is responsible for leading the engineering, maintenance, reliability, utilities, and continuous improvement activities required to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant operations.This position provides technical leadership for plant equipment, manufacturing processes, infrastructure, automation, reliability improvement, preventive and predictive maintenance, capital projects, and production performance. The Plant Engineer partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Safety, Supply Chain, and Finance to eliminate chronic losses and improve safety, uptime, run rate, yield, quality, and overall equipment effectiveness. The successful candidate will establish a proactive engineering and reliability culture that moves the facility from reactive problem solving toward planned maintenance, predictive maintenance, root-cause elimination, standardized work, and sustained process capability.

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent technical/engineering experience may be considered.
Experience
  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering, plant engineering, maintenance/reliability, or related experience.
  • Experience in an extrusion, continuous manufacturing or high-speed production environment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience improving equipment reliability and manufacturing performance.
  • Experience with CMMS systems such as Maximo preferred.
  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Experience with capital projects and equipment installations.
  • Experience with root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $81,900-$141,335

The range disclosed complies with applicable state and local pay transparency laws. Offers within this range will be determined by considering relevant factors including education, experience, and internal alignment. This position may also be eligible for annual performance bonuses and other incentive programs. Sealed Air offers a competitive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and other benefits designed to promote well-being.
