Job summary

NR Consulting in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Sr In-Plant Logistics Engineer to design and optimize warehouse layouts, improve material flow, and lead transformation projects.

You will develop inventory strategies, implement WMS and SAP logistics processes, and drive continuous improvement across receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping operations, while ensuring safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in warehouse planning, engineering, or in-plant logistics operations.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse layout design, storage concepts, and material handling systems.
• Hands-on experience in material flow analysis and logistics process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize warehouse layouts, storage systems, and material flow to maximize efficiency.
• Develop and implement material handling strategies including line-side delivery and replenishment.
• Conduct material flow analysis and simulations to identify bottlenecks and improve performance.
• Lead warehouse setup, relocation, and transformation projects including high-bay racking and logistics infra.
• Analyze warehouse operations and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and cost efficiency.
• Define and standardize processes for receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping.
• Develop inventory management strategies and KPIs to monitor warehouse effectiveness.
• Support implementation and optimization of WMS and SAP logistics processes.
• Perform safety assessments and ensure compliance with workplace standards.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, production, and customer teams for smooth logistics.
• Prepare technical docs, reports, layouts, and project plans for stakeholders.
