Job description

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: This position provides engineering support and project management for plant operations.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plant engineering/capital projects. (Scope, cost, justification, timing and execution)
  • Cost reduction and work flow optimizations to improve plant efficiencies.
  • Identify and implement productivity improvements.
  • Oversee plant infrastructure to maintain and enhance reliability, i.e. compressed air, chilled water and tower water and electrical distribution.
  • Provide general plant engineering support as required.
  • Provide engineering, PPE, or training solutions to high exposure areas based on near miss or incident reports.
  • Development of training documentation for equipment and best demonstrated manufacturing methodology. Improve preventive Maintenance program through growth of E-Maintenance.

AUTHORITY LEVEL (if applicable):

EDUCATION:

Required: High School Diploma + 5 years in manufacturing and maintenance experience

Preferred: Engineering Degree (i.e. Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical)

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

Required: 3 - 5 years manufacturing maintenance experience with emphasis on utilities, infrastructure, and manufacturing equipment as well as project execution

Preferred: Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel and Project). Experience in plastics manufacturing equipment. Maintenance experience and project management in complex capex projects > $250K

Drawing Skills: 2D CAD drawing skills for plant layouts and equipment requests. 3D modeling capability is a plus

Industrial Electricity and Controls:

Basic knowledge of industrial power distribution

Basic understanding of ladder logic and control systems

Pneumatic Control design is a plus
