Half of this position’s time are allocated to provide organization, planning, and direction of maintenance, technical changes, improvements and technical documentation for the MEPRON production plant.
The plant engineer provides technical expertise to maintain and continuously improve technology in order to minimize cost, increase reliability and to insure the technical means for safe operation. It is essential that the Plant Engineer contributes to the Plant Leadership Team.
The other half is assigned to plan, engineer and executes capital projects for all AN production units at the Mobile site.
The incumbent ensures that all engineering and construction work for capital projects is carried out in a timely, cost effective, safe and technically superior manner in accordance with accepted engineering practices, governmental regulations and Evonik standards. The incumbent can work simultaneously on complex and difficult projects with the support from other engineering disciplines (i.e. S6 or PT&E group).
A degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is required.
2–5 years of relevant experience is essential, including direct involvement with capital projects—specifically in equipment design, project engineering, and project management.
Strong collaboration with the Production and Technical Departments is critical for success in this role.
Must possess broad expertise in engineering principles, process technology, planning and organizing, regulatory compliance, and managing cost and schedule aspects of capital investments.
Extensive knowledge of maintenance processes and tools (SAP knowledge preferred), along with a strong aptitude for troubleshooting mechanical equipment, is essential.
Strong interpersonal skills are required, with a particular emphasis on effective verbal and written communication.
