Job summary

Alumicore in Monessen, PA is seeking a Plant Electrician to support operation, maintenance, and buildout of our industrial facility. You will troubleshoot electrical and controls issues, assist with installation and commissioning, and keep production equipment running safely and reliably.

The role requires experience with industrial controls, PLCs, VFDs, and automated equipment; shifting schedule options include 8-hour or 10-hour shifts at our Monessen plant.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical or trade training preferred.
• 2+ years of hands-on industrial electrical experience with troubleshooting.
• Experience with 480V three-phase systems and motor controls.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems on plant machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose issues involving motors, motor starters, contactors, relays, sensors, switches, and control circuits.
• Troubleshoot and maintain 480V three-phase industrial electrical systems.
• Work with VFDs, motor controls, electrical control panels, and automated equipment.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, I/O, sensors, interlocks, and basic control logic.
• Assist with startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting of new production equipment.
• Work with OEMs, integrators, and outside contractors during equipment installation.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on electrical equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, control diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Follow plant electrical safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and applicable electrical codes.
