Job summary

The City of Boca Raton offers a paid Vocational Apprenticeship Program that provides on-the-job training in selected trades. Apprentices work part-time, are paid hourly, and are designated as unclassified employees with no benefits.

Applicants must be 18+, HS diploma or equivalent, eligible to work in the U.S., and able to pass testing and background checks; orientation and training are mandatory, and there is potential for future permanent employment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or equivalent or some technical vocational education/training.
• Available to work Monday thru Friday between 7.00am to 4.30pm.
• A desire to pursue a career in municipal government.

Responsibilities

• Complete online application and required testing as applicable.
• Attend mandatory orientation and required training sessions.
• Adhere to City and Department policies.
• Participate in Goal Setting and Performance Evaluation sessions.
• Attend Exit Interview with Human Resources.
