The City and County of Honolulu is seeking qualified electricians for various roles within the Department of Environmental Services. These positions require skilled work involving the installation, maintenance, and repair of critical electrical systems in wastewater treatment facilities. Successful candidates will demonstrate journey-level skills, hold the necessary state licenses, and be able to adapt to physically demanding and hazardous work conditions.
Installs, maintains, overhauls, and repairs plant electrical and electronic control devices and equipment; and performs other related duties as required.
There are five vacancies with the Department of Environmental Services, located in various locations around Oahu. The positions involve highly skilled electrical and electronic work in wastewater pumping stations, treatment plants, laboratories, storm drain pumping stations, machine and electric shops, and other public facilities. The electrical and electronic equipment installed in wastewater facilities plays a crucial role in community health and environmental condition.
Work involves high voltage electricity, heavy machinery, moving machinery, and exposure to obnoxious odors in hazardous locations; working in confined spaces and high spaces using scaffolding or ladders, among others.

Experience and/or training sufficient to perform the journey-level skills and duties of this position.

2) Valid driver's license (Type 3/automobile) prior to appointment.
