Job summary

Nexxta is seeking an EHS Specialist to manage day-to-day environmental, health, and safety programs at our Wisconsin facility. The role ensures OSHA, EPA, and state regulatory compliance, and collaborates with plant leadership to drive a proactive safety culture on the production floor.

You will lead inspections, investigations, training, and permit programs; maintain OSHA logs and SOPs, manage LOTO and hazard assessments, track training, and support continuous EHS improvements across the site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
• Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and applicable EPA regulations; MIOSHA or state standards a plus.
• ASP, CSP, CHMM, or OSHA 30-hour General Industry certification preferred; willingness to obtain certification supported.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with EHS management software or LMS platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular safety inspections and floor walkthroughs to identify hazards and unsafe conditions; issue corrective actions and track closure.
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations with root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain plant-level EHS documentation, including OSHA logs, SDS library, written programs, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Manage plant-level permit and safety programs (LOTO, confined space, hot work, machine guarding) and ensure training and compliance.
• Monitor regulatory changes and update plant programs to maintain compliance.
• Develop and deliver plant-level EHS training for new hires and ongoing education.
