Job summary

HTI is recruiting an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist for an international power transformer manufacturer in the Augusta, GA area. The plant location is Waynesboro, GA, with typical Mon-Fri hours from 6:30am-3pm.

The role focuses on executing EHS management systems, ensuring compliance with GA DOH, EPA, OSHA, and related standards. The position requires 4+ years in an EHS role in manufacturing, strong leadership and communication skills, and a commitment to ongoing EHS

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in an Environmental Health & Safety role within a manufacturing facility.
• Demonstrated track record of EHS excellence and safety leadership.
• High school diploma or GED; EHS-related college degree preferred.
• Must be local to the greater Augusta, GA area and able to commute to Waynesboro.
• Strong leadership, communication, and training development/delivery skills.
• Pursuit of technical and professional EHS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to plant safety requirements and promote a positive safety culture.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate EHS risks (Spot checks, PSSR, MOC, Risk matrix, JSA).
• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in line with standards.
• Update EHS policies, procedures, and training materials.
• Develop and deliver EHS, PSM, Emergency Response (ER), and Security training.
• Manage external resources for projects; oversee contractors and approvals.
• Develop, capture and track leading and lagging indicators.
• Lead incident investigations and close-out actions.
