Job Description/Responsibilities

The Department of Biological Sciences, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor. We seek applicants with training in ecology or related disciplines, with a preferred focus on plant ecology. The successful candidate will share responsibility for teaching a general ecology course, an introductory biology course, and/or an upper division course in area of expertise.

Minimum Qualifications

A Ph.D. by the start of the fall 2025 term in biological sciences or related field with a specialization in plant ecology or a related discipline.

Preferred:

Post-doctoral teaching and/or research experience. Demonstrated record of an active research agenda.

Terms of Appointment

Full-time, academic year appointment beginning Fall 2025, with potential for renewal up to three years.
Applicants will be subject to a background check prior to an offer of employment.
