Job description

Plant Corrosion Engineer – Relocate to Saudi Arabia, Permanent Expat Relocation Package

We are seeking a Plant Corrosion Engineer to join the Riyas Engineering Division (RNGLFD), part of the Riyas NGL Fractionation Department. This role is a full‑time permanent position based in Saudi Arabia with a comprehensive Expat Relocation Package.

Job Overview

RNGLFD manages two trains, each designed to process 255 MBOD (242.25 MBCD). The trains include fractionation units, C3 & C4 treatment, and associated facilities such as steam, condensate recovery, utility water, and more. Your primary responsibility will be to implement, support, and continuously improve RNGLFP inspection corrosion‑management programs, ensuring cost‑effective material selection and corrosion mitigation strategies across all plant assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement corrosion management programs and on‑stream monitoring; conduct risk‑based inspection using API‑580 methodology.
  • Review and approve solutions for coating failures and cathodic protection; participate in HAZOP sessions and resolve associated issues.
  • Manage water treatment programs, recommend solutions, and validate material selections against current codes and standards.
  • Validate corrosion controls, corrosion loops, and damage mechanisms on a frequent basis.
  • Assess FEED composition changes and recommend solutions to ensure assets integrity.
  • Develop scope and description of technology items, leading field implementation.
  • Transfer knowledge on coating, cathodic protection, corrosion inhibitors, and best practices.
  • Extract data and interpret Corrosion Monitoring Technologies, troubleshoot corrosion problems, and address root causes.
  • Regularly review and update Integrity Operating Windows (IOW) and Corrosion loop drawings, incorporating emerging damage mechanisms or removing obsolete ones.
  • Adjust and modify inspection practices based on program changes; conduct special studies evaluating scope, impact, and long‑range cost effectiveness for existing and new projects.
  • Review operations and monitoring activities to identify needed system or procedural modifications and optimize inspection and corrosion programs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical).
  • 15+ years’ experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in material science, metrology, NDT technologies, and welding engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of international standards (NACE, ASME, API, ASTM) and inspection and corrosion standards (API‑571, API‑580, API‑570, API‑510).
  • Valid NACE Specialist Certification or equivalent (NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist, NACE Corrosion Technologist, API‑571, NACE CP Level II).
