Job summary

Howmet Aerospace seeks a Plant Controller to lead the finance function at a manufacturing facility. You will partner with the Plant Manager, directing Information Systems, Procurement and Accounting to support manufacturing operations and compliance, including SOX controls.

The role requires a BS in business/finance, 5+ years in financial/controllership roles, and a strong manufacturing mindset with advanced Excel/PowerPoint skills. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the operation of Information Systems, Procurement and Accounting to provide adequate manufacturing systems.
  • Identify key levers to drive business improvement and lead opportunities implementation.
  • Set performance goals for quality, productivity, delivery, cycle time, inventory and profitability.
  • Forecast, plan and analyze business results.
  • Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls compliance.
  • Coordinate capital appropriation processes and post-project reviews.
  • Supervise department employees.

Job Responsibilities

The purpose of this position is to act as a business partner to the Plant Manager, directing the finance function at a manufacturing facility. This position reports to the Plant Manager with a strong dotted line to the Business Unit. Key responsibilities include: direct the operation of Information Systems, Procurement and Accounting to provide adequate manufacturing systems, with additional responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  1. Identifying key levers to drive business improvement and providing leadership to ensure implementation of business improvement opportunities
  2. Determine, in conjunction with plant management, targeted goals for performance measures of quality, productivity, delivery, cycle time, inventory optimization and profitability
  3. Deploying business unit initiatives
  4. Forecasting, planning and analyzing business results
  5. Complying with Howmet and business unit financial reporting requirements
  6. Coordination of the capital appropriation process and post-project reviews
  7. Ensuring completion of Howmet's Sarbanes-Oxley requirements for internal controls
  8. Supervising department employees
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • BS in Business Administration and/or Finance Accounting from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years related financial/controllership work experience.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment in finance field
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • MBA, CMA and/or CPA
  • Plant Controller experience for a manufacturing facility with at least $150 million in annual revenues.
  • High proficiency in using MS Office software, experience with Oracle, Hyperion, or similar systems, project management, multi-tasking and developing/executing data queries.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational skills in relation to managing multiple projects with tight deadlines in a high pressure/high intensity environment.
  • Strong cost accounting skills - Multi level Routing and Bill of material Cost Accounting Experience.
