Job summary

General Aluminum Manufacturing is seeking a Plant Controller to manage financials for the Rootstown Plant and support other General Aluminum locations. You will plan, collect, and analyze financial data to determine production costs and improve operational efficiency.

Responsibilities include month-end close, GL control, asset accounting, variance analysis, and forecasting. Strong GAAP knowledge and ERP experience (Plex, SAP) are required to drive profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance.
• 6-10 yrs prior relevant experience in Manufacturing Accounting and Controlling.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP.
• ERP System experience esp. Plex, SAP or similar.
• Good judgment, problem identification and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills, written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including the preparation of financial statements.
• Maintain control of the General Ledger to assure accuracy of transactions and compliance with GAAP requirements.
• Fixed Assets Accounting, including changes, depreciation schedules, and processing all addition and disposal requests.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis and provide explanations of significant deviations from plan.
• Complete in-depth financial and operational analysis of key indicators to uncover opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll GLs.
• Responsible for preparation of financial forecasts and projections.
• Assist or test ERP improvements.
