Job summary

Snap-on is seeking a Plant Controller for its Elkmont, Alabama facility. This on-site role reports to the Director of Accounting and Finance and will lead the accounting activities to ensure accurate monthly plant results. Responsibilities include safeguarding inventory/assets and driving cost controls.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting, 5+ years in manufacturing cost accounting, and strong analytical skills. MBA preferred; salary commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required; MBA preferred.
• 5+ years of practical experience in manufacturing with cost accounting.
• Solid knowledge of general and cost accounting, purchasing, and payroll policies.
• Strong analytical and auditing skills; proficient written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Direct and validate all accounting activities including labor distribution, inventories, general receipts, scrap, rework, accounts payable, and journal entries.
• Analyze monthly plant financial results and recommend cost-reduction actions.
• Manage annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and monthly flash reports.
• Provide weekly financial updates and ensure standards for cost roll and SOX compliance.
• Develop and mentor staff of two or more associates.
