Job summary

TEEMA is assisting a Richmond, VA manufacturing client in finding an experienced Plant Controller to oversee financial and budgeting operations at their facility. You will partner with plant leadership, shared services, and global teams to drive profitability and strong financial performance.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in general accounting with FP&A and manufacturing experience, strong cost accounting knowledge, and excellent analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of general accounting experience with strong FP&A and financial analysis.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment is required.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee plant financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting activities.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, annual, and in-month financial reports for management.
• Maintain standard costs and perform variance, profitability, and operational KPI analysis.
• Partner with plant leadership to identify financial and operational challenges and recommend solutions.
• Support the annual operating budget and ongoing forecasts.
• Analyze budget-to-actual results and provide meaningful insights to management.
• Monitor and safeguard company assets, with a focus on inventory and capital assets.
• Assist with plant cash planning and forecasting.
• Provide financial support for operational decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work with shared services and global finance teams to improve processes, reporting, and financial models.
• Help implement corrective actions and ensure strong financial and operational performance.
• Provide support on other financial topics, including insurance and risk-related matters.
• Ensure compliance with company accounting, quality, health, and safety policies.
• Travel approx. 5% domestically and internationally.
