Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking an experienced Plant Controller to lead financial operations at a Philadelphia-area manufacturing facility. This onsite role partners with the Plant Manager and operations leadership to drive profitability and continuous improvement.

The candidate will manage month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, while developing senior accounting staff and ensuring internal controls and compliance across the plant finance function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • Experience in plant finance, cost accounting, manufacturing accounting, or operational finance preferred.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Experience partnering with plant/operations leadership.
  • Experience managing accounting professionals.
  • CPA preferred.
  • SAP S/4HANA ERP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial operations at the plant level, including month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Serve as a financial partner to the Plant Manager and operational leadership team.
  • Provide financial insight into manufacturing performance, production costs, labor, overhead, inventory, and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze financial and operational results, identify trends and variances, and provide recommendations to improve plant profitability.
  • Identify and support cost-reduction and process-improvement opportunities across the manufacturing operation.
  • Develop and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans in partnership with plant leadership.
  • Oversee and develop senior accounting personnel and provide leadership to the plant finance/accounting function.
  • Ensure accurate accounting, reporting, internal controls, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Partner with operations to evaluate manufacturing performance and support data-driven business decisions.
  • Help identify operational and financial risks and implement appropriate risk-mitigation and internal control strategies.
  • Support capital expenditure analysis, inventory management, working capital, and other plant-level financial initiatives.
  • Utilize ERP and financial systems to improve reporting, analysis, and financial processes.
  • Communicate financial performance, opportunities, and risks to plant and corporate leadership.

Fantastic opportunity: a leading manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Plant Controller to join their team. This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the manufacturing facility while serving as a strategic business partner to plant and operational leadership. The position is fully onsite, local to the Philadelphia area.

  • Experience partnering with plant/operations leadership and translating financial information into actionable business recommendations.
  • Previous experience managing or overseeing accounting professionals.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial processes.
  • CPA preferred.
  • SAP S/4HANA ERP experience preferred.
