Job summary

Teasdale Foods, Inc. in Louisville, KY seeks a Plant Controller to lead day-to-day accounting and finance, serving as the steward of the plant's P&L. You will drive month-end close, monthly variance reporting, and cross-functional planning with Sales, Operations, and Finance to enable accurate forecasts and strategic pricing decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Five years of hands-on accounting managerial experience.
  • Full understanding of accounting and GAAP with cost accounting experience.
  • Cost accounting experience, including BOM, labor and overhead.
  • Prior plant controller or equivalent manufacturing accounting experience.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Plant Manager to manage and optimize P&L, MUV, including revenue, COGS, freight and other cost drivers.
  • Drive efficiencies by managing day-to-day accounting, month-end close and internal controls compliance.
  • Develop plant annual operating plans and quarterly forecasts with cross-functional teams.
  • Perform month-end close and monthly variance reporting.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure a proper control environment within the plant.
  • Ensure integrity of financial systems and account reconciliations.
  • Establish and maintain accounting policies and GAAP compliance.
  • Prepare financial and KPI reports and present findings to management.
  • Provide pricing and cost insights to support corporate decisions.
  • Drive cost savings and productivity initiatives with Operations to optimize P&L.
  • Support capital evaluation and ROI/payback analyses.

PLANT CONTROLLER - LOUISVILLE, KY

OVERVIEW

The Plant Controller is a key member of the finance team/plant leadership and is responsible for managing the plant's day-to-day accounting and finance functions and serving as a steward of the plant's P&L. Looking for a challenge? Let's go!

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Partner with the Plant Manager to manage and optimize all aspects of the P&L, MUV, including revenue, COGS, freight, and other cost drivers.
  • Drive efficiencies by managing the day-to-day accounting functions, month-end close, and internal controls compliance.
  • Develop plant annual operating plans and quarterly forecasts, working cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Finance partners.
  • Perform month-end close and monthly variance reporting.
  • Perform periodic internal audits to ensure the existence and maintenance of an appropriate control environment within the plant.
  • Responsible for the integrity of financial systems and processes, including account reconciliations.
  • Establish and maintain the company’s accounting policies and procedures, ensuring GAAP and Company policies are followed.
  • Perform regular variance analysis and provide written and verbal explanations to management.
  • Prepare financial and KPI reports and present findings to management.
  • Provide pricing and cost insights to support corporate pricing decisions.
  • Drive cost savings and productivity initiatives, partnering with the Operations team to optimize the P&L.
  • Support the capital evaluation and acquisition process, ensuring ROI and payback of investments
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Five years of hands-on accounting managerial experience.
  • Full understanding of accounting and GAAP with experience in cost accounting.
  • Cost accounting experience, including Bill of Materials, Labor, and Overhead accounting.
  • Prior work experience as a Plant Controller or equivalent in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience working with ERP systems.
  • Strong planning, budgeting, and teaching skills.
  • Advanced level MS Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills a plus.
