Job summary

Compal USA in the United States is seeking a Plant Controller to lead the accounting function at the plant level. The role focuses on completing full-cycle accounting, preparing monthly management reports, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and corporate policies.

You will work closely with operations to provide financial insight and drive cost control. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, 3+ years of related experience, and strong skills in MS Word and MS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of related experience in manufacturing accounting.
• CMA, CPA or MBA is a plus.
• Strong MS Word and MS Excel skills; GAAP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Completes full-cycle accounting in AR, AP, and reconciliation.
• Prepares monthly management reports and financial statements.
• Conducts monthly reconciliations for key accounts (cash, inventory, AR, AP).
• Assists with annual operating budgets and business model reviews.
• Develops and enforces accounting policies and procedures.
• Provides ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
• Supervises and mentors junior staff; communicates with leadership.
• Monitors administrative procedures per corporate guidelines.
• Other duties to meet company objectives.

Job Title: Plant Controller

Department: Accounting

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Reports to: Accounting Finance Director

Principle Objective:

Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.

Typical duties and responsibilities

1. Completes full-cycle accounting in AR, AP, Account Reconciliation.
2. Completion of month end and year-end financial working papers and financial statement preparation.
3. Conduct various account analyses and monthly reconciliations o key accounts, including cash, inventory, AR and AP and on-going review of journal entries.
4. Prepare monthly management reports.
5. Monitor administrative procedures and delegate tasks according to Corporate guidelines.
6. Assist with developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate reporting.
7. Assist with annual operating budget and Business Model reviews.
8. Assist in the preparation of ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
9. Other duties may be required to meet company objectives.

Desirable Education/Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Accounting and equivalent experience. CMA, CPA or MBA is a plus.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience.

Skills: Strong background using MS Word and MS Excel.

Knowledge of GAAP guidelines and procedures.

Ability to develop skills and manage potential of subordinates.

Strong managerial, presentation and communication skills.

Physical demands: Work performed in a fast-paced environment under normal plant, warehouse, office and field conditions occasionally involving slightly disagreeable, but not disturbing, working conditions.
