Job summary

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in manufacturing accounting, experience with government contracts, strong GAAP knowledge, and proven leadership to manage staff, close processes, and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience in manufacturing.
• Strong cost accounting, inventory, COGS, and variance analysis experience.
• Experience with government contracts in manufacturing.
• Advanced Excel and ERP system experience.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting and financial activities for the manufacturing plant.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Oversee cost accounting, inventory, COGS, and manufacturing variances.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Analyze plant performance and provide variance analysis to leadership.
• Monitor internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
• Support government contract accounting and related financial requirements.
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and senior leadership on financial matters.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and financial performance.
• Lead and develop accounting staff.
• Support audits and other financial initiatives as needed.
