Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC, on behalf of a growing manufacturing client, seeks a Plant Controller in Indiana. This role leads plant accounting, standard costing, and financial reporting with significant autonomy and visibility at the site.

You will manage month-end close, inventory valuations, cycle counts, and collaborate with operations on cost control and capital decisions, while ensuring GAAP compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong cost accounting, standard costing, inventory control, and variance analysis experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems, month-end close, and financial reporting.
  • Stable work history with progressive responsibility.
  • CPA or MBA preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead plant-level accounting and financial reporting activities.
  • Maintain and manage the standard cost system for materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Analyze manufacturing, labor, inventory, and overhead variances and communicate findings to leadership.
  • Oversee month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventory while ensuring accurate inventory valuation.
  • Lead physical inventories, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliations.
  • Partner with operations on cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements.
  • Develop cost models and financial analysis to support operational and capital investment decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement within accounting, reporting, and inventory processes.
