A well-known consumer food manufacturing company is looking for a Plant Controller to manage the financial health and operational efficiency of one of its production facilities. This role owns cost control, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls, while serving as a key business partner to plant leadership and corporate finance. Responsibilities
- Lead financial planning, reforecasting, and budgeting processes in alignment with organizational goals
- Monitor performance against budget and forecast, providing variance analysis on labor, utilities, and fixed and variable costs
- Produce accurate, timely financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, P&L, and monthly KPI reporting
- Lead monthly and yearly financial closing activities
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and accounting standards
- Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors
- Partner with plant leadership and operations to provide financial insights that inform strategic decisions
- Support inventory processes and identify opportunities to optimize stock levels and reduce costs
- Lead, mentor, and develop the plant finance team
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required; relevant experience or certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree
- 5+ years of accounting or finance experience, with progressive leadership experience preferred
- Strong background in cost accounting and financial planning within a production environment; food manufacturing experience preferred
- In-depth knowledge of financial accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.)
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Excel; Power BI and Power Query a plus
- Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to translate data into strategic insights
- Ability to travel intermittently, approximately 10%
