DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Utilize best-in-class operational tools and processes to drive continuous improvement across all manufacturing disciplines within the site. Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to identify losses, strategize improvements, and implement solutions. Ensure operational best practices are consistently applied at the site level. Collaborate with plant and corporate departments on new product lines and transfers, focusing on maintaining product integrity and quality from start to finish.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Lead Sugar Creek Performance System implementation and coach execution at the site, achieving annual savings and performance goals.
  2. Oversee installation of new product lines and transfers, coordinating efforts across departments for seamless transitions while maintaining quality standards.
  3. Utilize and teach Zero Base Analysis to identify operational gaps and develop improvements.
  4. Employ tools to analyze losses and prioritize initiatives based on impact.
  5. Guide resources to high-value initiatives in appropriate sequences for maximum contribution.
  6. Use analytics to identify daily opportunities and analyze trends for long-term improvements.
  7. Monitor performance metrics to enhance throughput efficiency.
  8. Work with plant management to foster a positive, high-energy environment focused on continuous improvement and production goals.
  9. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
  10. Support safety, food quality, and sanitation initiatives.
  11. Adhere to Sugar Creek Packing Co. safety protocols.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in engineering, operations, or continuous improvement roles.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and planning skills.

  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new concepts.
  • Critical thinking skills for evaluating solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of process control systems, HACCP, and SQF programs.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Time management and multitasking skills.
  • Honest and ethical character.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

No unusual physical requirements; typical plant activity including some sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 20 lbs. Some travel between plants may be required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work involves indoor office and manufacturing environments. Safety gear such as hard hats, hairnets, hearing protection, safety glasses, and protective footwear is required. Some outdoor work may be necessary with appropriate safety equipment. Travel to other locations is expected.
