Job summary

Gibbon Packing, LLC, located in Gibbon, Nebraska, seeks a Plant Chief Engineer to lead maintenance and engineering efforts across the production facility. You will guide maintenance teams, design preventive programs, manage budgets, and ensure regulatory compliance while collaborating with other departments to sustain mechanical integrity and efficient operations.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive maintenance experience in a food processing environment, and the ability to multi-task

Qualifications

• Must have 5–7 years supervising, planning, and scheduling hourly maintenance personnel.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must communicate effectively in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Preferred: USDA inspected beef/poultry facility experience; CPE certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance for preventative and repair maintenance to ensure output quotas and deadlines.
• Design all preventative maintenance programs with maintenance and engineering staff.
• Administer and resolve technical maintenance issues.
• Prepare annual and monthly maintenance budgets and ensure objectives are met.
• Assist in installation and maintenance of machines and tools.
• Collaborate with departments to maintain mechanical integrity of plant programs.
• Prepare effective maintenance schedules.
