KWS LOCHOW GmbH in Bergen-Wohlde is seeking a Plant Breeding Trial Technician to manage field trials for hybrid rye and contribute to data collection and analysis. The role involves coordinating sowing, harvesting, and crop management, with a focus on quality and accurate documentation.

You will be part of an international rye breeding effort, working with teams in Germany and Poland, and you will guide seasonal staff while maintaining data integrity and reporting results.

Qualifications

• Completed vocational training or degree in Agriculture, Horticultural Sciences, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of crop production and field trial management.
• Independent, responsible and able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan, establish and manage field trials in hybrid rye breeding.
• Organize sowing, harvesting and crop management activities.
• Collect trait data timely and perform statistical analysis.
• Prepare source material for internal analyses and maintain databases.
• Document results according to internal quality standards and support cross-border teams.

As part of our international rye breeding team, you will be responsible for the technical management of field trials in hybrid rye breeding, making an important contribution to the development of high-performing rye varieties.

This exciting position is permanent and offered on a full-time basis.

Your Responsibilities – Diverse and Rewarding:

• Planning, establishing, and managing field trials in the area of hybrid rye
• Organizing sowing, harvesting, and crop management activities
• Timely collection of trait data and statistical analysis of results
• Preparing source material for internal analyses
• Maintaining the relevant database area and ensuring efficient integration of data generated within the breeding program
• Documenting results and processes in accordance with our internal quality management standards
• Collaborating closely with rye breeding teams in Germany and Poland
• Providing technical guidance and support to seasonal staff

Bring in your strengths:

• Completed vocational training or a degree in Agriculture, Horticultural Sciences, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of crop production, ideally with experience in field trial management
• Independent working style, team spirit and a high sense of responsibility
• Valid Class B driver's license
• Good knowledge of standard MS Office applications
• Fluent German and good English communication skills, both written and spoken
• Willingness to travel occasionally within Germany and internationally (up to 10%)
