Job summary

Ingredion Incorporated in Indianapolis, IN, invites applications for a Plant Accountant role hybrid at the Indianapolis Plant. You will execute accounting transactions per U.S. GAAP, report plant performance, and participate in month- and year-end closes.

The role reports to the Manager of Operations Finance, T&HS US/CAN. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance with 0–3 years' experience, SAP and manufacturing exposure preferred, and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 0-3 years relevant experience.
  • Understanding of basic accounting concepts in manufacturing environments.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reports.
  • Forecasting and budgeting across Texture & Healthful Solutions’ plants and monitor trends.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations to ensure internal control policies are followed.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual Sarbanes-Oxley testing.
  • Develop and maintain Business Process Procedures (BPPs).
  • Perform analyses to identify yield and production reporting issues.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships across units for timely reporting.

Location: Indianapolis Plant – Indianapolis, IN. Workplace Type: Hybrid.

As the Plant Accountant you will execute accounting transactions in accordance with U.S. GAAP ensuring transactions are accurately and properly stated. Develop, analyze, and report plant performance to management for comparison of actual results to plan and latest estimates. Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes as required. This role will report to the Manager, Operations Finance, T&HS US/CAN.

What you will do:
  • Business
    • Financial Reporting – Participate in the preparation of accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reports.
    • Forecasting/Budgeting – Work cross-functionally across Texture & Healthful Solutions’ plants (ie intermediate products plant, potato manufacturing plants) and monitor trends to prepare monthly forecasts and periodic budgets over plant specific spending, including depreciation and permit spending.
    • Account Reconciliations – Prepare monthly account reconciliations in a timely manner to ensure internal control policies are being followed.
    • Audit Activities – Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual Sarbanes-Oxley testing. Work with internal and external audit teams providing requested documentation pertaining to related work. Drive cohesive financial strategies while maintaining robust internal controls and compliance.
    • Business Process Procedures – Ensure Business Process Procedures (BPP’s) are written and current for all job functions and that they comply with internal control policies.
  • Agility and Innovation
    • Analysis – Perform analyses for T&H Plants to proactively identify and communicate yield and production reporting issues.
    • Account Analysis – Perform analyses on T&H various spending accounts to proactively identify and communicate spending issues.
    • Ad-Hoc – Willing and available to work on special projects focused on accounting, financial analysis, financial forecasting, financial reporting and operational efficiency/standardization of processes as required.
  • Relationships and People
    • Develop Relationships – Build and maintain collaborative relationships across all units and functional managers for Indy COE Plants responsible to ensure accurate and timely reporting of plant performance.
What you will bring:
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 0-3 years relevant experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic accounting concepts and theories used in the manufacturing and business environments
  • SAP Experience preferred
  • Manufacturing Experience preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadline requirements
  • Inventory understanding
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to various levels within the organization
  • Proven proficiency in the use of MS Office (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel as necessary

Pay Range: $69,800.00-$93,066.67 Annual. This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).

Incentive Compensation: As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
