University of Central Florida's Building Department is seeking a Plans Examiner I to perform code reviews and inspections across university facilities in compliance with the Florida Building Code. This role is designated as Emergency Essential Personnel.
You will review plans, conduct on-site inspections, document findings, and coordinate corrections while ensuring adherence to adopted codes and standards. A license pathway is required within 6 months and full licensure within one year.
The UCF Building Department is looking for a Plans Examiner I. This position is responsible for performing code reviews and inspections in University facilities in compliance with the Florida Building Code. This position is designated as an Emergency Essential Personnel.
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 4+ years of relevant work experience in construction, design or inspections of buildings as supervisor or contractor.
Must possess a minimum of 1 inspector license and 1 plans examiner license or receive an inspector certification within 6 months of hire and full licensure (2 total) within one year of hire.
Applicant must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer, as sponsorship is not available for this position now or in the future.
Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Type of Appointment: Regular
Expected Salary: $26.83 to Negotiable
