Job summary

The City of Perrysburg seeks a Planning/Zoning Specialist to assist in developing the Comprehensive Land Use Plan and enforcing zoning codes. Responsibilities include reviewing permit applications, conducting field inspections, and supporting planning commissions.

A bachelor’s degree in urban planning and two years of related experience are required. This on-site role offers opportunities to coordinate with boards, prepare staff reports, and contribute to land use changes and documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Urban or Regional planning or a related field.
• Two years of experience in zoning inspection and administration and urban planning; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and preparing the City’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan and enforcing zoning codes; analyze data and communicate with committees as needed.
• Process permit applications for building projects; review for accuracy and completeness and ensure compliance with ordinances.
• Approve or deny applications; issue permits; provide guidance to bring projects into compliance; maintain records.
