Job summary

The Planning Supervisor at Hubbell Incorporated's Littleton Burndy Facility leads a team of Production Planners responsible for production planning, scheduling, and inventory control to meet customer requirements.

You will partner with production supervisors and engineering to optimize material flow, drive improvements in inventory turns, and develop talent within the planning group while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required (Supply chain / Finance degree desirable)
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing planning, production scheduling, materials management, or supply chain experience, including leadership or supervisory experience
  • Supply chain management and planning/scheduling knowledge with manufacturing experience or knowledge
  • Excellent communication, project management, and relationship building skills
  • Strong analytical, business process analysis, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills & ability to engage and communicate with internal & external customers
  • High motivation and results-oriented work ethic
  • High proficiency and capability in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Business Objects, and data analytics processes
  • In depth SAP ERP system experience required
  • IBP Forecasting system a plus
  • CPSM or APICS certification a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manages a team of Production Planners and oversees all aspects of the production scheduling process to ensure effective capacity planning, appropriate inventory levels, and schedule integrity, ensuring stock items are maintained and made-to-order products are produced and delivered in a timely manner
  • Provides direct leadership, coaching, and development to a team of Production Planners, establishing clear performance expectations, driving accountability, and developing planning capabilities that support operational excellence and customer service objectives
  • Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of plant performance
  • Uses business analytics on metrics and procedures to suggest improvements to increase efficiency and cash flow
  • Acts as part of the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions
  • Facilitates companywide productions meetings and maintains intimate knowledge of backlog orders

Job Overview

The Planning Supervisor is responsible for planning/scheduling product line areas and provides guidance and mentorship to a team of planners that manage all production planning and inventory control for the Littleton Burndy Facility.

The individual serves as a critical member of the plant leadership team by providing oversite of plant activities related to material flow and customer service. Provides leadership influence to help ensure facility goals are met related to safety, quality, productivity, and customer service. Develops, implements, and maintains programs designed to reduce costs, improve inventory turns, and optimize customer service levels.

Leads and supports all assigned personnel to maximize their contribution to the success of the business and fully develop their talent of career potential. This position will work closely with the production supervisors/managers as well as divisional teams to ensure effective planning/scheduling and sourcing decisions to meet customer expectations.

A Day In The Life
