Hubbell Incorporated's Fenton facility seeks a Planning Manager to lead production planning and inventory control, guiding a team of planners and coordinating with production supervisors to meet customer expectations.

You will use supply chain planning, scheduling, and analytics to optimize inventory turns, ensure capacity planning, and support safety, quality and productivity goals.

A Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of related experience are preferred; SAP ERP and IBP experience highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain or related field required; supply chain degree desirable.
  • 3-5 years relevant experience in planning/scheduling.
  • Experience in supply chain management with manufacturing background.
  • Excellent communication, project management and relationship skills.
  • Strong analytical and process-improvement capabilities.
  • Proficient in Excel, Power BI, Business Objects and data analytics.
  • SAP ERP experience required; IBP forecasting a plus.
  • CPSM or APICS certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of the production schedule to ensure capacity planning and appropriate inventory levels.
  • Maintains stock items and make-to-order production with integrity and timeliness.
  • Establishes performance metrics for plant performance measurement.
  • Uses analytics to improve efficiency and cash flow.
  • Coordinates engineering changes, product line extensions, or new launches.
  • Facilitates production meetings and tracks backlog orders.

Job Overview

The Planning Manager is responsible for planning/scheduling product line areas and provides guidance and mentorship to a team of planners that manage all production planning and inventory control for the Fenton Facility. The individual serves as a critical member of the plant leadership team by providing oversite of plant activities as related to material flow and customer service. Provides leadership influence to help assure facility goals are met related to safety, quality, productivity, and customer service. Develops, implements, and maintains programs designed to reduce costs, improve inventory turns, and optimize customer service levels. Leads and supports all assigned personnel to maximize their contribution to the success of the business and develop their talent to the fullest extent of career potential. This position will work closely with the production supervisors/managers as well as divisional teams to ensure effective planning/scheduling and sourcing decisions to meet customer expectations.

  • Bachelor's Degree required (Supply Chain degree desirable).
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in business or industry.
  • Supply chain management and planning/scheduling knowledge with manufacturing experience or knowledge.

  • Strong analytical, business process analysis, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills & ability to engage and communicate with internal & external customers.
  • High motivation and results-oriented work ethic.
  • High proficiency and capability in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Business Objects, and data analytics processes.
  • In depth SAP ERP system experience required.
  • IBP Forecasting system a plus.
  • CPSM or APICS certification a plus.
A Day In The Life
  • Serves as a member of the plant leadership team and provides management and support necessary to achieve local, division, and corporate initiatives and objectives.
  • Manages all aspects of the production schedule to ensure capacity planning and appropriate inventory levels with integrity to maintain stock items and that made-to-order products are produced in a timely manner.
  • Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of plant performance.
  • Uses business analytics on metrics and procedures to suggest improvements to increase efficiency and cash flow.
  • Acts as part of the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions.
  • Facilitates company-wide production meetings and maintains intimate knowledge of backlog orders.
