Job summary

The Florida Department of Transportation seeks a Planning Specialist II to coordinate roadway additions or deletions to the State Highway System and update roadway classifications in Chipley, FL. The role includes ArcGIS mapping, GIS data maintenance, and collaboration with Central Office Planning.

Applicants will support public hearings, district GIS projects, and ensure documentation accuracy, contributing to OneFDOT's safety, mobility, and growth goals.

Qualifications

• Four years professional or nonprofessional experience (including internships or co-ops) in transportation, planning, public administration, engineering or logistics.
• Post-secondary education can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Assembles data for additions/deletions to the State Highway System and coordinates with Central Office Planning for action finalization.
• Maintains the District Roadway Transfer status tracking system and related documentation.
• Assists with updating Roadway Characteristics Inventory Database and coordinating local workshops/public hearings.
• Performs Aeronautical Reconnaissance Coverage ArcGIS mapping projects and provides GIS data support.
