Job summary

Lighthouse Electric is seeking a Planning/Layout/Design Specialist to plan, lay out, design, coordinate and pre-fabricate on projects. You’ll apply a thorough knowledge of electrical systems, construction documents, and quality construction practices.

Responsibilities include coordinating with designers and contractors, preparing material submittals, and assisting preconstruction and fabrication teams with issues.

Qualifications

5 years field construction experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Proficient in reading and understanding all forms of construction documents.
Ability to interpret 2D plans and provide input to a 3D model.
Demonstrates willingness to learn and efficiently use software such as BIM360, Bluebeam, Excel, Outlook, Navisworks, Revit.

Maintains regular contact with project personnel and relationships with designers, owners, and subcontractors.
Outlines job specifications and reviews material submittals for project requirements.
Supports preconstruction, pre-fabrication and construction teams with electrical/systems/ construction related issues.
Aids in the creation of detailed bill of materials.
Educates field personnel on layout/design processes and supports project efforts.
Creates detailed layout drawings adhering to company standards.
Seeks ways to infuse quality and labor savings into layout efforts.
Communicates ideas for continuous improvement in standards and workflows.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Position Summary

The Planning/Layout/Design Specialist is involved in the planning, layout, design, coordination and pre-fabrication on projects. This person has a thorough knowledge of electrical systems, construction documents, and quality construction work practices.

Key Responsibilities

Maintains regular contact with project personnel as well as professional relationships with designers, owners, and subcontractors
Outlines job specifications and reviews material submittals for project requirements
Supports preconstruction, pre-fabrication and construction teams with electrical/systems/ construction related issues

Qualifications

Education

Minimum of 5 years field construction experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
