Job summary

DHR Global in Oklahoma City is seeking a Planning Engineer to bridge Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Program Management, turning customer requirements and contractual obligations into executable manufacturing plans for aerospace production.

You will develop travelers, routers, and work instructions for CNC machining and assembly, review drawings, define sequences, and support risk management and first article inspections.

Responsibilities

• Develop travelers, routers, work instructions, and manufacturing plans for aerospace machining and assembly operations.
• Review engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, and customer requirements to create effective production strategies.
• Define manufacturing sequences, machine utilization, inspection requirements, and workflow execution.
• Collaborate with CNC Programming, Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability and process efficiency.
• Determine material requirements, manufacturing methods, and subcontract processing requirements.
• Lead risk assessment and mitigation activities for new and existing programs.
• Support new product introduction, First Article Inspection (FAI), production launches, and process improvements.
• Coordinate engineering changes and release packages across departments.
• Develop rework and corrective action plans for nonconforming product when necessary.
• Serve as a technical liaison between customers and internal teams to ensure alignment with design intent.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, delivery, throughput, and cost reduction.

What You'll Do

As a Planning Engineer, you will transform customer requirements, engineering designs, and contractual obligations into executable manufacturing plans that ensure successful production.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop travelers, routers, work instructions, and manufacturing plans for aerospace machining and assembly operations
• Review engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, and customer requirements to create effective production strategies
• Define manufacturing sequences, machine utilization, inspection requirements, and workflow execution
• Collaborate with CNC Programming, Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability and process efficiency
• Determine material requirements, manufacturing methods, and subcontract processing requirements

• Associate degree, technical degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
