Job summary

City of Macomb, Illinois, is seeking a Full-Time Planning and Development Specialist in its Community Development department to advance the city’s growth and vision. The specialist will review development proposals, prepare staff reports, and help implement the comprehensive and strategic plans.

The role requires a degree in urban planning or related field, 2–5 years of municipal planning experience, and knowledge of zoning regulations. Residency in McDonough County is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in urban planning or related field, or equivalent education/experience.
  • 2–5 years municipal planning or related experience preferred.
  • AICP certification preferred or ability to obtain.
  • Valid Illinois driver’s license.
  • Strong knowledge of zoning, land use, and development regulations.
  • Residency in McDonough County required.

  • Provide professional assistance to residents and businesses regarding zoning, planning, and development procedures.

Compensation & Benefits
